'Forced to sit in the car, beaten and thrown away', know what is the kidnapping case related to actress Lakshmi Menon

News Topical, Digital Desk : Kerala actress Lakshmi Menon has been charged in connection with the alleged kidnapping and assault of a software professional in Kochi. The complainant has alleged that Menon and her friends kidnapped and attacked him near the city's Ernakulam North Bridge following a brawl at a bar.

The software professional told the police that Lakshmi Menon and her three accomplices - Mithun, Aneesh and Sonamole - dragged her out of her car and forcibly made her sit in another car. She was assaulted and threatened in that car, before being thrown out, following which the car sped away, she alleged.

What does actress Lakshmi Menon have to say?

However, Lakshmi Menon has called the complaint false and fabricated and said that it is a move to tarnish her reputation. The 27-year-old actress said that she and a female friend were at the bar that night but the complainant and her friends harassed her instead.

Currently, the Kerala High Court has granted Lakshmi Menon protection from arrest till September 17. The three arrested persons are now in judicial custody. The incident took place on the night of August 24.

What is the whole matter?

• If local media is to be believed, the bar where this incident took place is located on Banerjee Road in Kochi. It was reported that Lakshmi Menon and her friends had arrived at the bar sometime after 11 pm.
• He had a quarrel with the complainant before midnight and later it came on the road. However, it is not yet known what was the reason behind this quarrel?
• Menon said the complainant sexually assaulted her and her friend. She said even after she left the bar, he and his friend followed her and also attacked her with a beer bottle.
• However, the complainant has said that the actress' friends were drunk and were misbehaving with his friends. He (and his companions) tried to quietly leave the bar to avoid further escalation. The complainant said that he and his companions got into their car and left.
• According to a report in Malayalam publication Onmanorama, Lakshmi Menon's friends followed her in their car and a confrontation broke out again at the North Bridge.
• The technician claimed that when he got out to try to defuse the situation he was forced into another car and that car fled. He said he was threatened and assaulted inside the vehicle.
