The Embassy in Iran has also started a Telegram channel from where Indian citizens stranded in Iran can get instant information. Taking another important step, the Indian Embassy informed that India is not only evacuating its citizens but is also assisting in the evacuation process of citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka. This decision has been taken at the request of the governments of Nepal and Sri Lanka.

In another post, the embassy wrote, "Citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka can also contact us through our Telegram channel or emergency contact numbers." This makes it clear that India has also undertaken to assist citizens of neighboring countries on humanitarian grounds. Earlier on Wednesday, the Indian government formally announced "Operation Sindhu". The aim of this operation is to bring back safely all Indians who are currently living or working in Iran.
