News Topical, Digital Desk : UP News: There is a lot of commotion in the political corridors of UP on the controversy of the story teller in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. Now this matter is also being given the form of Yadav vs Brahmin. After looking at every aspect of this incident, now you will have a question in your mind that if this is purely a matter of misbehavior and fraud, then why is politics being played on it. So now we put the answer to this in front of you.

UP and Bihar are two states of North India where politics revolves purely around caste. Politics here is incomplete without discussion of caste. In such a situation, this incident is also being linked to the caste equation. There is talk of preparing the pitch for 2027, so first of all look at the caste arithmetic of UP.

Caste arithmetic of Uttar Pradesh

Upper castes are around 18% here,
OBC population is 42%,
Dalits are 21%,
Muslim population is 19%

BJP has a one-sided hold on the vote bank of upper castes for the last 10-15 years. Talking about OBCs, the votes of this group are divided. Currently, Samajwadi Party and NDA have equal hold on this OBC vote bank. As far as Brahmins and Yadavs are concerned, the population of both is equal in figures, Brahmins are also 10 percent in UP and the number of Yadavs is also 10 percent.

Akhilesh Yadav accuses him of discriminating against Brahmins

At present, Yogi Adityanath is the CM of UP who belongs to the Thakur community. While Brajesh Pathak of Brahmin community is the Deputy CM. Akhilesh Yadav has been accusing the current government for a long time that it discriminates against Brahmins. To get the Brahmin vote bank on his side, Akhilesh Yadav has made Mata Prasad Pandey the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.

Most Brahmin MLAs were elected in 2022 elections

Let us also tell you that the maximum number of MLAs who won in the 2022 elections were from the Brahmin caste. 46 Brahmin MLAs were elected from NDA, 5 from Samajwadi Party. As far as Yadavs are concerned, NDA has 3 Yadav MLAs while Samajwadi Party has 24 Yadav MLAs who won and reached the assembly in 2022.

In 2007, Mayawati secured Brahmin votes through social engineering

It is not that Brahmin votes have traditionally been the core voters of BJP, in 2007, Mayawati brought Brahmin votes in her favour by doing social engineering. The result was that BSP came to power with a bumper majority. In every election before and after this, Brahmin voters have played an important role in forming the government. In the year 2012, when Akhilesh became the CM, Samajwadi Party gave tickets to 45 Brahmins in the elections, out of which 21 won. In the year 2017, after the Modi wave, Brahmins joined BJP.

Preparing to set the pitch for 2027

According to CSDS, in 2017, 83 percent of Brahmin votes went to BJP and 7 percent to SP, while in 2022, 89 percent of Brahmin votes went to NDA. Only 6 percent of Brahmins voted for Samajwadi Party then. In 2017, 10 percent of Yadav votes went to BJP and 68 percent to SP. Talking about Yadavs in 2022, 12 percent of Yadavs voted for BJP while 83 percent voted for Samajwadi Party. Traditionally, Samajwadi Party has had a hold on Yadav votes. This is the reason why an attempt is being made to heat up the politics of UP by giving caste color to this controversy of the narrator, preparations are being made to set the pitch of the year 2027.
