News Topical, Digital Desk : A plumber from a Mumbai housing society is generating widespread attention on social media. A resident of the same society said he earns ₹18 lakh per annum (LPA) working in the townships of Mira Road, Borivali, and Kandivali.
Not only this, in a social media post titled 'A plumber in Mumbai is earning Rs 18 lakh annually', the user explained in detail how the plumber was not only earning well but also bought an expensive car, built a house and also bought agricultural land.
What was written in the post?
"This is as shocking as it sounds. Today I was talking to a plumber from my society in my township. He was working on repairing a pipe. We talked about a lot of things and then he started telling me about his work," a user wrote in a post on Reddit.
Earnings Rs 18 lakh annually'
When asked about his earnings, the plumber said that his total annual income from these contracts reached ₹1.8 million. The user said, "I generally asked him how much he earns in a year. The man said that combined, he earns around ₹1.8 million annually from all the townships he works in."
The post further read, "At first I thought he was joking, but then he started sharing financial figures. Also, this guy owns a Creta car (2023 model), has built a house in his village and has also bought agricultural land. Man, he has become rich. Right now I am thinking about my life decisions. What times are we living in, isn't it?"
Post viral on social media
As the post went viral, social media users stressed that the growing popularity of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools has not affected blue-collar jobs and such workers will continue to earn well.
