Doctor raped a minor in a girl's home, got her aborted when she became pregnant; police is investigating:

News Topical, Digital Desk : Serious allegations made by a 19-year-old girl who lived in the government girls' home in Chitrakoot Nagar, Udaipur, have shaken the foundations of the administration and child welfare system. The girl says that when she was a minor, a doctor posted in the girls' home sexually abused her and she became pregnant.

As soon as she became an adult, the victim lodged a zero FIR in Raigad, Maharashtra, which was transferred to Udaipur and a case was registered in Sukher police station on July 18. According to the police, this incident happened between 2022 and June 2025 when she was under government protection. She told the female staff of the Balika Griha and a member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) about this several times, but no one listened.

Female employee accused of having an abortion

The girl alleges that when she became pregnant, a female employee forcibly got her abortion done by giving her an abortion kit. The names of doctors Arvind, Kiran, Pushpa and Yashoda are mentioned in the FIR. However, Yashoda Paniya, the acting president of CWC, completely denied these allegations and said that we do not have any doctor of this name.

Health checkups are done at places with CCTV cameras and girls are sent in groups, so it is unlikely that this is an isolated incident. Assistant Director of Child Rights Department KK Chandravanshi said that the girl became an adult on June 1 and was released from the institution on June 2. He said that if anyone is found guilty in the investigation, strict action will be taken.

Question on the presence of male caretaker

Another worrying fact is that where entry of men is prohibited, a male caretaker named Rajpal has been serving for years. This points towards violation of rules. Sukher police station officer Ravindra Charan said that the victim has been called from Raigarh, her statement will be recorded on Monday.
Further action will be taken after police inquiry. On Sunday, District Collector Namit Mehta also visited the Balika Griha and reviewed the situation. After the matter came to the media, there has been a stir in the administrative circles and all the related aspects are being closely investigated.
