Why does UTI occur?

Bacteria aren't the only cause of UTIs in women, but their body structure and lifestyle also play a role. Women's urethra is shorter than men's, so bacteria don't have to travel as far to reach the bladder.

What is the meaning of UTI in Ayurveda?

In Ayurveda, UTIs are not simply considered a bacterial attack, but rather a condition called mutrakrichchhra or mutraghata, and are linked to an imbalance of the body's pitta dosha. Eating too hot, spicy, salty, or sour foods and indigestion aggravate pitta, leading to problems like burning in the bladder, frequent urination, and abdominal or back pain.

Ayurveda offers a permanent and safe solution. Chandraprabha Vati strengthens the bladder muscles and reduces irritation. Gokshuradi Guggulu increases urine output and flushes out bacteria. Neeri provides immediate relief and prevents infection from reaching the kidneys. Chandanasaya also cools body heat and eliminates burning sensation during urination. Herbs like Punarnava, Varuna, and Giloy also boost the body's defenses. Additionally, Ayurveda recommends drinking coriander and sugar candy water in the morning for immediate relief. Drinking plenty of water, practicing good hygiene, and avoiding spicy or heavy foods also help prevent UTIs.
