News Topical, Digital Desk : On October 3, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav distributed relief funds worth crores of rupees to lakhs of farmers. This was the first time the state government provided relief funds for crops damaged by yellow mosaic. On this occasion, the Chief Minister spoke with farmers from several districts via video conferencing to inquire about their well-being. 

Along with the country, the state is also progressing – CM

During this discussion, the farmers thanked the Chief Minister for the financial assistance. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state, along with the country, is progressing. The government stands with farmers in every crisis. The state's economy thrives because of farmers. 

It is noteworthy that with a single click, the Chief Minister transferred ₹653.34 crore to the accounts of 8,84,772 farmers. During this period, farmers received ₹331.22 crore in relief for crop damage caused by excessive rainfall and floods, and ₹321.97 crore in relief for crop damage caused by the pest disease yellow mosaic. 

We have done what we said – CM

The government says that relief funds will continue to be distributed in this situation of damage. In a discussion with farmers, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that the government is committed to farmer welfare. "We have done what we promised," he said. He told farmers that the government has no shortage of funds. Farmers should go to the markets and register for the Bhavantar Yojana. They will receive their money soon. 

He also stated that the government stands with farmers in their time of need. The government is continuously working to help them. He added that just like soldiers on the border, farmers in the fields are also equal. Both risk their lives to fulfill their roles. It is because of them that our agricultural economy thrives. We will ensure that farmers receive the benefits of the Bhavantar Yojana under all circumstances. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , the state, along with the country, is continuously progressing. 

Farmers thanked

During this, a farmer from Mandsaur told CM Mohan that his crop was damaged by yellow mosaic. He said that the government provided immediate relief. "I thank the government for this. It will help us during Diwali." Similarly, Rekha said that the Madhya Pradesh government provided significant assistance to farmers during Diwali. "Many thanks to the government for this," she said. Similarly, farmers from all districts said that the government made preparations for their celebrations before Diwali. 

Crops were damaged in so many districts

The natural disaster has damaged crops covering approximately 34,94,898 hectares belonging to 390,275 farmers in 1,854 villages in Vidisha, Seoni, Barwani, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Damoh, Burhanpur, Mandla, Khandwa, and Ujjain. Similarly, due to the yellow mosaic insect, crops covering approximately 336,366 hectares belonging to 494,605 ​​farmers in 1,700 villages in Shahdol, Khandwa, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Damoh, and Alirajpur have been damaged.

The government has already given this much amount

It should be noted that on September 6th, the government provided ₹20.6 crore in relief to 17,500 farmers in 11 districts for crop damage. Similarly, in August, farmers were given ₹30 crore in relief. In the year 2025-26, the government has already distributed ₹225.07 crore in relief funds. 

It has rained so far

It is noteworthy that the state has received 1148.1 mm of rainfall so far. This is 21 percent more than normal. Guna received the highest rainfall at 1668.1 mm, followed by Mandla at 1589.7 mm, Raisen at 1575.5 mm, Narsinghpur at 1446.5 mm, and Sheopur at 1441.0 mm. Besides these districts, Betul received 984.7 mm of rain, Sehore at 1055.4 mm, Shajapur at 734.6 mm, and Ujjain at 857.3 mm. These districts also received less than average rainfall.
