Chhattisgarh-Odisha border sealed, vehicles from both states stranded; dispute erupts after drivers are assaulted:Transporters from Odisha had assaulted some goods vehicle drivers from Chhattisgarh.

News Topical, Digital Desk : Due to a dispute between transporters from Chhattisgarh and Odisha over freight, loading and recovery, the local police have completely sealed the Hamirpur Taparia border.

As a result of this decision, coal transportation has been stopped, due to which about one thousand trucks and trailers going towards Raigarh from both the states have been stranded in the border areas.

Recently, at the Hamirpur border, transporters from Odisha had beaten up some cargo vehicle drivers from Chhattisgarh, in which Rs 15 thousand was looted and they were taken hostage.

Tamnar Police Station in-charge Kamala Pusan arrived at the scene and freed the hostages. Following this, a criminal case has been registered against five people, including Bunty Dalmia, and against others. In view of the situation, the police administration has sealed the border as a precautionary measure.
