News Topical, Digital Desk : Five persons have been arrested for allegedly assaulting two police officers deployed at a temple here to maintain law and order during Diwali celebrations, police said on Tuesday. A case has been registered against the accused under the Indian Penal Code for using violence to deter public servants from performing their duties. 

What is the matter?

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Monday night when two police officers tried to stop some allegedly drunk youths from causing a ruckus at the temple. An officer from the Kuthiathode police station said the youths beat up the officers. More police officers later arrived at the scene and the accused were taken into custody. He said the officers suffered minor injuries in the attack and are now fine. 

A businessman returned home after performing Diwali puja, but his shop burned to ashes.

Meanwhile, a horrific incident occurred on Diwali night in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. A massive fire broke out at a department store in the Ghum Chakkar area of ​​Nawalgarh district on Diwali night, destroying goods worth over 2 million rupees.

According to reports, Jhajhar resident businessman Ramniwas Saini had closed his Anushka Departmental Store at around 7:20 pm after Diwali prayers and returned home. Shortly after, a short circuit occurred in the electrical wiring in the shop. Seeing smoke rising, neighbors immediately broke open the shop and tried to extinguish the fire on their own. With great prudence, they prevented the fire from spreading to nearby shops.
