News Topical, Digital Desk : We all know Dharmendra's immense contribution to Hindi cinema. Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, and since his death, everyone is saddened and remembering him. In a career spanning over six decades, Dharmendra starred in many big and hit films, but he always regretted that he, his children, or the Deol family were not given the attention they deserved in cinema.

Dharmendra's family did not get that respect

Dharmendra worked in Hindi cinema for many years. After Dharmendra, his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol worked in Hindi cinema, and he continues to work in it. His second wife, Hema Malini, was also a superstar. However, Dharmendra once said that his family was not given the due recognition it deserved in Hindi cinema. He deserved the attention the Kapoor family and others received, but he never received it. He felt that he, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol were all doing good work, yet their work was often overlooked. In an interview with Times Now, he said,

"My family doesn't believe in "marketing" themselves and prefers to let their work speak for itself. Sunny Deol, despite being part of two of the biggest blockbusters, never boasts about his achievements."

Dharmendra said, "But my family never got their due." He further stated that he is happy with the love of his fans and audiences and doesn't mind the industry's lack of recognition for his contributions to Hindi cinema. In this interview, Dharmendra also revealed that he never received any awards or honors for his outstanding performance in the 1969 film “Satyakam.”

Dharmendra worked in Hindi cinema for over six decades. During this time, he acted in over 300 films. His name is even included in the list of blockbuster films. He is listed among the actors with the most hits. However, when Dharmendra revealed this years ago, many believed it. In 1997, Dharmendra was honored with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. Although Dharmendra is no longer with us, Hindi cinema will always remember his contributions.
