News Topical, Digital Desk : Boeing, a name in the world that has touched the heights of the sky, but for the last few years it has been in trouble regarding its credibility. Boeing is an American company, which is famous for making airplanes, rotorcrafts, rockets, satellites and missiles. Its headquarters was earlier in Chicago, Illinois, but now it is in Virginia. Its history has been great, but for the last few years Boeing has also been in the news for many tragic plane accidents. Let us now tell you about some accidents of Boeing aircraft:

Tragic accident in Ahmedabad (June 12, 2025)

A heartbreaking accident happened in Ahmedabad on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Air India's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which was flying to London's Gatwick Airport, crashed in the Meghani area of Ahmedabad a few minutes after the flight. There were 242 people on board the plane, including 169 Indians, 53 British, seven Portuguese and a Canadian citizen. Immediately after the accident, a huge fire broke out in the plane, and smoke engulfed the surroundings. Only one passenger survived in this accident and the remaining 241 people died.

Senegal incident (2024)

In Senegal, a Boeing 737 failed to take off and slid off the runway into bushes. The plane caught fire and was severely damaged.

South Korea incident (December 2024)

In South Korea, a Boeing plane skidded off the runway and crashed into a concrete wall. The plane burst into flames, killing 179 of the 181 people on board, including a three-year-old child.

Lithuania event (November 2024)

A Boeing 737 cargo plane lost control while landing in Lithuania and crashed into a house. One person died and three people were injured in the accident.

LATAM Airlines flight (March 2024):

A Boeing 787 aircraft flying from Sydney to Auckland suddenly began to fall rapidly, injuring more than 50 passengers. There were 263 passengers and 9 crew members on board the plane.

Alaska Airlines Horrifying Accident (January 2024):

A door of Alaska Airlines' Boeing 737 Max 9 suddenly opened at an altitude of 16,000 feet. There was no harm to the passengers in this accident, but this incident was no less than a nightmare for the passengers.

Boeing 737 MAX dark period (2018-2019)

In October 2018, a Boeing 737 Max 8 crashed into the Java Sea in Indonesia, killing 189 people. After this, in March 2019, another 737 Max 8 crashed in Ethiopia, killing 157 people. Investigations revealed that the cause of both accidents was a malfunction in the flight control system of the aircraft. These accidents discredited Boeing so much that the company had to settle for $ 1.1 billion with the US Justice Department, and 737 Max aircraft were banned from flying for almost two years.

Security investigation and whistleblower warning

In May 2024, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched a new investigation against Boeing. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the investigation was to find out whether Boeing completed the required safety inspections on its 787 Dreamliner aircraft? The FAA suspected that Boeing employees may have skipped some inspections and manipulated records.

Meanwhile, former senior Boeing manager and executive director of the Foundation of Aviation Safety, Ed Pearson, made serious allegations against the company. He told BBC Radio 4 that Boeing's planes are not safe and have many flaws. Pearson also asked the authorities to start a criminal investigation against the company. He says that Boeing failed to meet the FAA's deadline and has pleaded for an extension of the deadline. Pearson's warning is clear - 'The time for talks is over, now action is needed'.

Big blow for Boeing

The Air India accident in Ahmedabad is another setback for Boeing planes. These repeated accidents have deeply hurt the company's reputation. This is shaking the confidence of passengers, and the FAA's strictness and whistleblower revelations are making the situation even more difficult. Boeing will now have to not only fix its technical flaws, but also win the trust of passengers around the world. Will Boeing be able to overcome this crisis, or will this dark shadow of accidents keep getting deeper? This question is in the mind of every person who is flying in the sky today.
