News Topical, Digital Desk : A local BJP leader Rohit Negi was allegedly shot dead in Prem Nagar area, in what is being said to be a love affair. Police said the incident took place at Peepal Chowk in Manduwala after midnight on Monday. Negi was returning home with some of his friends when Azhar Tyagi, a resident of Muzaffarnagar in UP, allegedly fired at his car from the front. Azhar Tyagi came on a motorcycle and shot Negi right on the neck. According to police, Negi's friends immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.

There was a dispute over a female friend

According to the information received, Rohit Negi, a resident of Selaqui area of ​​the capital Dehradun, used to work in property dealing, whose friend was friends with a girl from the Muslim community, due to which both of them lived together. But Azhar Malik, originally a resident of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, did not like this and the rivalry between Rohit and Azhar started due to this.

Police has started searching for Azhar

The deceased BJP leader Rohit Negi, who was 22 years old, was called by the criminals on some pretext and shot. It is being told that a girl from the Muslim community was a friend of Rohit Negi's friend. There was a rivalry between the two sides regarding this matter, this rivalry became the reason for Rohit Negi's murder. SP City Pramod Shah said that after the incident, the nearby CCTV footage is being checked. Four teams have been formed to catch the miscreants. The youth Azhar who shot is said to be a resident of Muzaffarnagar.

Based on the complaint by Negi's friend Abhishek Bartwal, the police have registered a case of murder under sections 103(1), 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code and have begun searching for Tyagi. The police are conducting a detailed investigation into all possible aspects of the incident.
