News Topical, Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Bengaluru's Namma Metro Yellow Line today. The Yellow Line of the Metro will start operating before its scheduled deadline of 15 August. This 19.15 km long section from RV Road to Bommasandra is expected to make travel much easier for the people of the city.

There are 16 stations in this line

The Yellow Line has 16 stations. It includes RV Road, Ragi Gudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, Bommana Halli, Hongara Sandra, Kudlu Gate, Singa Sandra, Hosa Road, Beretta Agrahara, Electronic City, Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahara, Huskur Road, Hebba Godi and Bommasandra.

Know how much is the fare?

According to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the trains will run from 5 am to 11 pm daily. Initially, three driverless trains will run at an interval of 25 minutes. Fares will start from Rs 10 and go up to a maximum of Rs 90.

The yellow line will cover the most trafficked areas

Namma Metro's Yellow Line is a revolutionary change for commuters from Bengaluru South. The line passes through Silk Board junction, which is the most trafficked junction in the city. Jayadeva Hospital will be an interchange station on the Yellow Line once the Pink Line is operational. Central Silk Board will be an interchange station once the Blue Line opens. The Blue Metro will start from Central Silk Board and end at Bengaluru International Airport.

Know how much it cost?

The Yellow Line project is built at a cost of Rs 5,057 crore. During his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the third phase of Namma Metro, a major expansion connecting Bengaluru. The project has recently received the approval of the Union Cabinet, which reflects the government's commitment towards timely implementation of urban infrastructure.
