News Topical, Digital Desk : The central government is currently preparing to crack down on aggressive marketing strategies aimed at protecting gig workers. Sources told CNBC-TV18 that Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has held several meetings with major quick commerce and food delivery platforms over the past month and asked them to stop branding and marketing "10-minute delivery." According to sources, Mandaviya urged the end of ultra-fast delivery branding to protect gig workers' rights and reduce the pressure caused by aggressive delivery timelines.

Sources said these meetings were held with major platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, Zomato, and Swiggy, where concerns regarding delivery timelines and their impact on gig workers were discussed. The main focus was on ensuring greater safety, security, and better working conditions for delivery partners. Sources said that following government intervention, major delivery aggregators have agreed to remove the 10-minute delivery branding and marketing. Other quick commerce players may follow suit in the coming days.  Sources said this move was taken to strike a balance between the rapid growth of quick commerce and the well-being of gig workers.
