The Chief Minister gave several important instructions to the officials in a high-level review meeting of the AYUSH department on Saturday. He said that Yoga and Naturopathy centres should also be made mandatory in every AYUSH institute, so that people can take advantage of natural treatment and health improvement.
Health and Wellness Centre Plan in Every District
Chief Minister Yogi said that health and wellness centres should be established in every district. These centres can be opened on government or PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model. Treatment facilities will be provided in these centres through AYUSH methods. He said that the construction work of AYUSH University should be completed with quality and timeline and the ongoing construction projects in the entire state should also be completed fast.
The Chief Minister said that private sector investors should be encouraged to invest in the AYUSH sector. Also, the infrastructure, faculty and facilities of private colleges and hospitals should be checked so that there is no shortage in education and treatment. He also said that the Panchkarma method of Ayurveda is very useful in the treatment of serious diseases, so it should be promoted in all institutions.
Preparations for Yoga Day should begin from now
The Chief Minister told the officials that preparations should begin from now for the International Yoga Day to be held on June 21. Yoga programs should be held at every district, municipal body and village panchayat level and trained master trainers should also be prepared for this. Yogi Adityanath said that regular supply of medicines should be ensured in all Ayush hospitals by signing MoUs with companies like Dabur, Baidyanath and Patanjali. This will ensure timely treatment to patients.
At present, there are 2,127 Ayurvedic, 259 Unani and 1,598 homeopathic medical institutions functioning in the state. The Chief Minister said that these institutions should be constantly monitored and their functioning should be further improved. This decision of the Yogi government is being considered a big step towards strengthening the traditional medical systems of the country. The Chief Minister said that AYUSH is not only a means of treatment, but also strengthens the concept of holistic health. He also talked about making the state a leader in the AYUSH sector in the country and the world.
To promote AYUSH medicine in India, the central government created a separate AYUSH Ministry in 2014. Its objective is to promote Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. Work is also going on continuously in this direction in Uttar Pradesh and this new initiative of the Yogi government will play an important role in creating a healthy society and new employment opportunities.
