News Topical, Digital Desk : A man serving a jail sentence for rape has received significant relief from the Supreme Court. During the bail hearing, the Supreme Court based its decision on its "sixth sense." The court stated that the accused and the victim had consensual sex, but after their relationship soured, the victim falsely accused the man, and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Supreme Court also spoke with the families of both the accused and the victim. Both are now married. During the hearing, the court decided to quash the sentence and close the case.

The decision came after 9 months

The accused was lodged in a Madhya Pradesh jail. A Supreme Court bench comprising Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma ordered the Madhya Pradesh Police to bring the accused to the Supreme Court under police protection. However, the case took nine months to be heard. The court issued notice in March and the decision was delivered in December. Meanwhile, the accused and the victim have married.

Bail was not granted by the High Court

According to the Supreme Court, this is a unique case. The accused appealed for the revocation of his sentence. The High Court rejected the petition. The case reached the Supreme Court. Based on our sixth sense, we have concluded that the accused and the victim can live together.

The couple got married

It should be noted that after speaking with the accused and the victim, the Supreme Court approved their bail plea in July, after which they married. Now, while hearing the case, the court learned that they are living a happy life. Consequently, the court has decided to dismiss the case.
