News Topical, Digital Desk : Violent protests against the government in Iran are steadily increasing. So far, 648 people have died as a result of these protests. The Iranian government has arrested more than 10,000 protesters.
The US is closely monitoring Iran's actions. The White House has confirmed that President Donald Trump is considering military options, including airstrikes, in response to the violent protests in Iran.
America will conduct airstrike on Iran
"One of President Trump's hallmarks is that he always keeps all his options open," White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said on Monday, January 12. Airstrikes are one of the options the president is considering. Leavitt further stated that diplomacy is always the first option for Donald Trump.
Levitt further said, 'Whenever President Trump deems it necessary, he is not afraid to use military options and no one knows this better than Iran.'
Donald Trump has also said this many times, 'If the Iranian government targets peaceful protesters, the United States will definitely intervene.'
Violent protests in Iran
Anti-government protests have been taking place in Iran since December 2025. These protests began due to the deteriorating economic situation. The protests, which began in Tehran's Grand Bazaar, have now spread to 31 provinces.
Thousands of people have taken to the streets in Iran and are continuously raising slogans against the Islamic government of Iran.
