
A court in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state has sentenced a person convicted of raping a patient suffering from corona infection in the year 2020 to life imprisonment. The accused was an ambulance driver and he raped the patient when she was being brought to the Covid center. It is worth noting that at that time the whole country was battling with the corona virus infection. A 19-year-old covid patient was being taken to the primary health center. The victim was being brought from Adoor General Hospital to the Pandalam Covid Center. During this time, she was raped at midnight.

A corona patient was raped by the ambulance driver in a secluded area of Aranmula while being brought from Adoor General Hospital to the COVID center in Pandalam. In fact, the victim told the doctors about the incident after reaching the treatment center. Then the incident came to light. This incident caused a lot of uproar in the entire state. Health officials were criticized because they sent a female patient alone in the ambulance.
The court gave a severe punishment
In this entire case, the court convicted 29-year-old Naufal, a resident of Kayamkulam area of the state. Pathanamthitta Chief Sessions Court decided the punishment period of the convict and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 2,12,000 on the convict.
