News Topical, Digital Desk : Seventeen students have been suspended from the government-run Sawai Mansingh Medical College in Jaipur on charges of ragging. This action was taken based on a complaint filed by a student with the National Medical Commission.

In his complaint, a first-year student wrote that senior students harass him and his friends. They repeatedly ask for the names of junior students. They ask them to sing songs. Sometimes they make them stand like a rooster, and sometimes they mentally harass them.

Based on the investigation of the complaint and questioning of the affected students, 17 students have been suspended. Dr. Monica Jain, Chairperson of the Anti-Ragging Committee, stated that the families of the suspended students have been informed. These students have also been barred from attending classes until further notice.
