News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump has criticized the United Nations, saying the global body has proven to be of little help in resolving global conflicts, and announced that fighting between Thailand and Cambodia will be temporarily halted.

He said these initiatives have made the US the "real" United Nations. "I am pleased to announce that Thailand and Cambodia will live in peace in accordance with our recently signed original agreement," he said in a post on Truth Social on Sunday. As always, the US is proud to have helped end hostilities. He criticized the UN's failure to resolve conflicts around the world.

'The United Nations should do this'

He said, "The number of wars and conflicts I have resolved and ended in the last eight months has perhaps made America the real United Nations." He said that the United Nations should begin to actively participate in world peace.

Talks begin between Thailand and Cambodia

The ceasefire agreement, signed on Saturday, calls for an end to weeks of fighting along the two countries' disputed border, which has left more than 100 people dead.
