News Topical, Digital Desk : China has now claimed to be mediating to resolve tensions between India and Pakistan. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday that tensions between India and Pakistan are among the major issues China has mediated this year.

It is noteworthy that the conflict between India and Pakistan occurred between May 7 and 10. A ceasefire was reached on May 10. Since then, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed to have brokered a ceasefire between the two countries.

However, India has stated that the ceasefire was reached after talks between the DGMOs of the two armies. India has categorically stated that mediation is not acceptable in matters relating to India-Pakistan.

The Chinese foreign minister addressed an event on the international situation and China's foreign relations in Beijing. Wang said, "Local wars and cross-border conflicts have erupted more frequently this year than since the end of World War II.

We have adopted an objective and fair approach to building lasting peace. We have mediated in northern Myanmar, the Iranian nuclear issue, tensions between India and Pakistan, the Palestine-Israel conflict, and the recent conflict between Cambodia and Thailand.
