News Topical, Digital Desk : Have you ever thought that a dream that has been budding in the eyes for 18 years, the hope which even doctors have almost given up on, can be fulfilled by a machine? Yes, this is not a fantasy, but a reality! Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rekindled the hope of a woman to fill her empty lap, it has done such a miracle that perhaps no one had even imagined. Let us tell you in detail about this whole matter.

What was the whole matter after all?

A couple at the fertility center of Columbia University in America was struggling with the problem of not having a child for the last 18 years. Several attempts of IVF (test tube baby) had also failed. The real reason was a rare male infertility condition - 'azoospermia'. In this, no sperm is visible in the man's semen. The doctors had also given up, but at this time a new technology based on AI did wonders. With the help of this technology, the doctors found three live sperms within just one hour. These three sperms became the hope of that woman.

What is the 'Star Method' and how does it work?

The technology behind this work is called the 'STAR Method', i.e. Sperm Tracking And Recovery Method. It is an AI-powered microscopic camera system that analyzes millions of images in a semen sample.

While traditional lab technicians could not find any sperm even in two days, this AI technology took more than 80 lakh pictures and found 44 sperms out of them. Later some of these were mixed with the egg and the woman became pregnant. Now the woman is going to give birth to her child in December this year.

AI is changing the world of fertility

Fertility treatment has long been a challenge, especially when the cause of the problem is 'invisible' sperm. AI is now becoming an invaluable ally of doctors in such cases. This is not only increasing the chances of success, but also reducing the treatment time.

Is AI really trustworthy?

There is a mixed opinion about AI in society. According to a survey conducted in America, 43% people believe that AI is good for society, while many people consider it a threat to jobs and privacy. However, it is also true that a year ago this figure was 38%, which means people's trust is gradually increasing.

60% of people in urban areas and 55% in rural areas are still skeptical about AI. But when AI makes one of the greatest joys of human beings – procreation possible, it is a matter of thinking that technology should be used in the right direction.

When hopes start to fade, technology can become a support

This story is not just about one woman or one family, but about millions of couples who are waiting to become parents. Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a technical facility, but is emerging as a new hope. When traditional treatments fail, innovations like AI can make miracles possible.
