News Topical, Digital Desk : Adani Energy Solutions reported strong performance across its transmission, distribution, and smart metering businesses in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025-26 (Q4 FY26). The company surpassed the installation of over 10 million smart meters during this period.
HVDC Project and Network Expansion
The company has commissioned its second high-voltage direct current (HVDC) project in Mumbai, increasing the city's power transmission capacity by 1,000 megawatts.
With the addition of the South Kalamb substation project, the company's total transmission network has increased to 27,949 circuit kilometers. System availability during the quarter was 99.77%, reflecting strong operational capacity.
Improvements in Distribution Business
Adani Electricity Mumbai reduced distribution losses to 4.20% in Q4 from 4.31% last year. Supply reliability remained at 99.997%. Electricity sales in the Mumbai circle increased by 4% to 2,508 million units, while unit sales at Mundra-based MPSEZ Utilities Ltd. increased by 46% to 368 million units, indicating a pick-up in industrial demand.
A major achievement in smart metering:
The company has achieved its target of installing 10 million smart meters. The current order book stands at 24.6 million meters, generating potential revenue of ₹29,519 crore. There is still a significant opportunity for approximately 103 million smart meters in the country.
FY26 Performance
During the entire financial year, the company's transmission network expanded from 26,696 to 27,949 circuit km, while transformation capacity reached 123,175 MVA.
Supply reliability in Mumbai remained at 99.998%, and consumer complaints also decreased. Collection efficiency remained above 100%, and the share of e-payments increased to 85.5%. Following these positive figures, the company's stock rose ₹78.75 (7.30%) to close at ₹1,158.05 on the BSE.
