
News Topical, Digital Desk : A major action of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has come to light in Jalore district of Rajasthan, where the team of Barmer unit took action and arrested Head Constable Bhanwarlal (Constable No. 709) posted at Sarwana police station red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 50 thousand.
According to ACB officials, the accused head constable had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a lawyer in exchange for helping his clients in their case and not making more than two co-accused accused other than the accused named in the FIR. After the complaint was filed, the ACB planned the action and after taking the agreed amount, the accused was caught from the government residence located in the police station premises.
Trap action was taken under the leadership of ASP Narendra Kumar
ACB Director General (in-charge) Smita Shrivastava said that the complainant lawyer had given a written complaint to the bureau that the investigating officer was taking undue advantage and pressuring him to get relief for his clients. After confirming the complaint, trap action was taken under the supervision of DIG Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav of ACB Range Jodhpur and under the leadership of ASP Narendra Kumar.
A case has been registered and investigation has been started
The team has recovered and seized the bribe amount of Rs 50,000 from the accused and has taken him into custody and started interrogation. At present, a case has been registered against the accused head constable under the Prevention of Corruption Act and investigation has been started. After this action, there has been a stir in the district and the police department.
Additional Director General Smita Shrivastava said that the lawyer of the accused had lodged a complaint with the ACB that the head constable had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 in exchange for giving relief to more than two other co-accused besides the named accused in the case registered against his client and other family members and for cooperating in the case.
