News Topical, Digital Desk : A 16-year-old boy died after he was allegedly stabbed by a classmate in a classroom of a coaching centre in Pune district, police said on Monday. Police said the attack apparently stemmed from a previous quarrel between the two boys, both students of Class 10. According to police, the incident occurred at a private coaching center in Rajgurunagar.
What else did the police say?
"According to initial information, the victim and the accused had a fight over a small issue a few months ago. A few days ago, the deceased and his friends had beaten up the accused, which enraged him," said an officer from Khed police station.
Knife attack on throat and stomach
"On Monday, while the class was going on, the accused came with a knife in his bag and sat behind the victim. He then attacked the victim with the knife on his neck and stomach and ran away. The boy was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died due to his injuries," the officer said.
The accused was later taken into custody and presented before a juvenile court, he said. The officer added that further investigations into the case, including the angle of past enmity, are underway.
