Some continued to call out for Manoj Pugalia and his family, but by then the fire had claimed the lives of eight people trapped inside.

Some guests were staying at Manoj Pugalia's house. They had come to Indore to attend an event. They were also caught in the fire. SDRF and fire brigade teams pulled out seven bodies, including three injured. Later, the body of a child was also recovered, which was so badly burned that it had to be brought out in a bundle.
Neighbors in Preeti Nagar are terrified after this tragedy. An atmosphere of mourning has gripped the entire colony. People are astonished at how the entire family was consumed by the flames in an instant. The fire spread so rapidly that neighbors were unable to make any effort to save the family.
