News Topical, Digital Desk : The SSP has announced a reward of 10,000 rupees for Vishal Yadav, accused of inciting a mob to pelt stones at a police team. He has been absconding since the incident. The police have been searching for him for six months.

The case is from the Gida police station area. Hanuman Chauhan, a resident of Jawahar Chak, was injured in a dispute during Durga Puja on October 4, 2025. His family took him to Lucknow for treatment, where he died on October 20.

Upon receiving the news of the death, relatives and villagers became enraged. They blocked the Gorakhpur-Varanasi four-lane for three hours. The police, after convincing them, somehow managed to send the body for a post-mortem. However, when the body arrived in the village after the post-mortem at 5 pm, the situation worsened.

The villagers created a ruckus, demanding the administration and public representatives be called to the scene. Then, in various groups, villagers, relatives, and family members arrived at Nausadh intersection. Police from several police stations were engaged in convincing them.

It is alleged that during this time, Vishal Yadav incited the crowd to pelt stones at the police team. The sudden stone-pelting caused panic among the police. Police officers who arrived in a Vajra vehicle for security became trapped inside. The villagers vandalized the vehicle with sticks and stones, and beat the police personnel with sticks.

Several police officers, including a female constable, were injured and had to flee the scene to save their lives. The police officers trapped in the vehicle were rescued after considerable effort. Upon receiving information about the incident, additional police forces arrived at the scene and dispersed the crowd with batons.

During the four-hour-long disturbance, chaos prevailed from Nausad intersection to Jawahar Chak. Long queues of vehicles formed on the four-lane, leaving commuters stranded for hours on the Varanasi and Lucknow routes. Traffic was restored late at night when the situation returned to normal.

Based on the complaint filed by Nausadh outpost in-charge Kamlesh Pratap Singh, a case has been registered against Angad, Somnath, Bugni Devi, Anil, Vishal Yadav, and 40-50 unidentified individuals. SP North Gyanendra stated that a reward has been announced on the SSP's instructions for the arrest of the absconding accused, Vishal Yadav. He will be apprehended soon.
