News Topical, Digital Desk : In the saga of Krishna's incarnation, Kansa is known as a cruel uncle and a tyrannical king, but did you know that the story of Kansa's birth was equally mysterious and terrifying? People often assume that Kansa was the son of King Ugrasena, but hidden deep within the pages of mythological texts lies a truth that can send shivers down anyone's spine.
Let us know how that biggest enemy of Mathura was born and was he really abandoned by his father?
A deception led to the birth of Kansa.
The foundation of Kansa's birth was not based on love or a boon, but on deception. According to mythology and specific references in the Bhagavata Purana, Queen Padmavati, wife of King Ugrasena of Mathura, once went on a forest quest. There, a Gandharva (demon) named Drumil assumed the form of Ugrasena and tricked the queen.
Queen Padmavati failed to understand the scheming plot, and this unholy union resulted in the birth of Kansa. Scholars and religious scholars believe that since Kansa's real father was an Asura (Drumil), he was inherently demonic from birth.
Was little Kansa thrown into the Yamuna?
From the moment Kansa was born, divine prophecies and astrological calculations were alarming. According to scriptures, when Padmavati gave birth to Kansa, the infant's demeanor and energy were so negative that King Ugrasena sensed future trouble. Some legends state that Ugrasena did not want to make the child heir to the throne of Mathura because he knew he was the offspring of unrighteousness.
However, historical and religious texts do not explicitly state that he was drowned in the Yamuna, but rather that Ugrasena tried to keep him away. However, through his demonic powers and deceit, Kansa grew up to imprison his own father, Ugrasena, and forcibly usurp power.
revenge of a past life
Kansa's cruelty was not only due to his birth, but also to his previous life. According to mythology, Kansa was a demon named Kalanemi in his previous life, who was slain by Lord Vishnu. This led him to become a sworn enemy of Lord Vishnu (Krishna) in this life as well, and he was dragged towards his own doom.
