Lucknow News: The Uttar Pradesh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is now working on another big scheme. This time the government's focus is to equip government buildings in every district of the state with solar energy. That is, now solar panels will be installed on the roofs of government offices and the electricity needs of these buildings will be met through solar energy.
This is being considered a big step towards making the state a "green energy state". Chief Minister Yogi clearly says that if the common people are to be motivated to adopt solar energy, then the government itself will have to initiate it. This is the reason why preparations have now begun to install solar rooftops on the roofs of government buildings in all districts.
Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Agency (UPNEDA) has been given the responsibility for this work. UPNEDA will inspect government buildings in every district to see where solar panels of 25 kilowatts or more capacity can be installed. A special team has been formed for this, which will visit every district, tehsil and village and prepare a report.
Government will get huge benefit with electricity saving
Installing solar energy in government buildings will save a lot of electricity expenses. Along with this, the environment will also benefit. At present, many government buildings consume a lot of electricity, but by installing solar panels, this expense will be reduced significantly. This will save government money, which can be used in other development works.
A digital solar map will be made, information about every district will be available
The government plans to prepare a digital solar map when this work is completed in all the districts. It will tell how many government buildings in which district have been connected to solar, how much electricity is being generated and how much is being saved. This map will become an example for the state in future.
Agreement will be made with PSU, strategy will be decided
To implement this scheme, UPNEDA will enter into an agreement with public sector companies (PSUs). A feasibility report will be prepared for each building. Then a detailed action plan will be prepared based on these reports, so that the work can be completed faster. The Government of India and the state governments have been running several schemes to promote solar energy for the last few years. Initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, Solar Rooftop Yojana are motivating people to adopt solar. Now this step of the UP government can become an example at the government level. The government says that save electricity, save the environment and create a secure energy future for future generations.
