A case will be filed against Nepali citizen Naresh Bhatt in Virginia, USA for the murder of his wife. The Prince William County Court has charged Naresh Bhatt in the murder case of his wife Mamta Kafle Bhatt.
According to court records, Naresh Bhatt is also accused of hiding the dead body. Bhatt was to appear in court on Tuesday, but the hearing was postponed due to the unavailability of an interpreter. Now the case will be heard on Wednesday.
Wife is missing since July
Naresh Bhatt's wife Mamta had gone missing. She was last seen on 27 July at Prince William Medical Center. Mamta was a nurse there. But after that no one saw her. It is alleged that Naresh murdered Mamta and hid her body somewhere.
Naresh Bhatt was an automatic logistics specialist in the US Army Reserve. He was also a member of the Fairfox County Police. It is also alleged that Bhatt's wife was missing, but he was searching on Google, 'How many days after the death of the wife can one get married?'
The couple is of Nepali origin
Naresh and Mamta are both of Nepali origin. 28-year-old Mamta is also the mother of a girl. Police said that DNA test has revealed that the blood found in the bedroom is Mamta's. According to the police, there is sufficient evidence that Mamta was murdered on 29 July.
Officials said, 'Looking at the crime scene, we were sure from the beginning that he was murdered. The DNA test also proved our suspicion right. Officials are still searching for the dead body. I think we have a strong case.'
Police has vital evidence
Police said that 'blood stains were found in the main bedroom of Bhatt's house. There were light pink stains on the carpet as well. A lot of blood was found in the bathroom as well. It seemed as if something had been dragged.'
The public prosecutor told the court that he has some recordings in which Naresh Bhatt can often be seen going in a car at night. In this, he is seen throwing something in a garbage bag. It is alleged that this recording was done after Mamta went missing.
Naresh Bhatt is behind bars
On August 2, Mamta's colleague informed the police that she was supposed to come to the hospital on August 1 and 2, but did not come. The colleague said that she is not even picking up the phone. A police team reached Naresh and Mamta's house to investigate.
But Naresh Bhatt refused to file a missing report at that time. Three days later, he filed a missing report for Mamta and said that he had last met his wife on July 31 at the dinner table.
The police searched the house and after investigation arrested Naresh Bhatt on August 22. He filed a bail plea in September but it was rejected.
