People of PoK are being treated badly: S Jaishankar

While addressing a program in Kolkata on Tuesday, S Jaishankar said that today, the stir in PoK has increased a lot. Its analysis is very complex but certainly I have no doubt in my mind that anyone living in PoK must be comparing his life with the people living in Jammu and Kashmir. They must be seeing that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are progressing. They must be feeling that they are being treated badly. They are being discriminated against. They are living under occupation.

Article 370 was promoting separatism: Foreign Minister

The Foreign Minister further said that PoK has always been and will remain an integral part of India. Until Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir, there was not much discussion about PoK. Until Article 370 was implemented, there was not much discussion about PoK.

In the 1990s, some pressure was put on us by Western countries. S Jaishankar further said that our government abolished Article 370. Article 370 is a temporary provision and our government abolished it. It was in a way promoting separatism, violence and terrorism.

The funeral processions of those who have died are also being held together, in which a crowd of thousands of people is gathering.
