To get and maintain good health, we are told to pay special attention to our food, but here one more thing that needs to be paid attention to is what, when and how to eat. If you understand this funda, then you will never have to visit a doctor. By the way, let us tell you that just being healthy in food is not enough, it is more important to have a balance. Balance means that your food should include fat, carbs, minerals, protein, vitamins etc. Ayurveda also advises to stay away from contradictory food to keep the body healthy. Very few people know about this. In today's article, we will learn about this.

What is Viruddha Aahaar?

Some food combinations are considered good for health. Eating them provides benefits to the body, but some food combinations are harmful for health. Such food is placed in the category of contradictory food. Contradictory food disturbs the balance of Vata, Pitta and Kapha in our body, due to which the body becomes a victim of many types of diseases.

In Ayurveda, contradictory diet is said to be responsible for certain types of diseases. Such as:

1. Obesity

2. Thinness

3. Hair loss or baldness

4. Impotence

5. Weakening of eyesight

6. Digestive problems

7. Skin related problems

8. Sore throat, cold

9. Constipation and diarrhea

10. Anemia

11. Pain and swelling in joints (rheumatoid arthritis)

12. White spots on the skin

13. Swelling in the body

14. Stomach ache, burning sensation, sour belching

Some examples of Viruddha Aahaar

1. Fruits like dragon fruit and avocado do not grow in our country. They are imported from foreign countries, so according to Ayurveda they are not good for health.

2. In a hot and desert place, the same type of food, that is, dry and very spicy food is also a type of Viruddha Aahar (contradictory diet). It makes our body sick.

3. Earlier fruits and vegetables were available according to the season, but now you can enjoy any fruit and vegetable in any season. Many types of chemicals are used to make these fruits and vegetables available out of season, which are very harmful for health.

4. Our body is governed by the three elements (doshas) of Vata (wind), Pitta (heat) and Kapha (cold). If Vata is more, that means someone produces more gas or burps a lot, then in such a case, foods that increase Vata are not good for the body. The same thing applies to foods that increase Pitta and Kapha. It is very important to understand the nature of your body before eating.

5. Some people like to eat hot Gulab Jamun with ice cream, while the combination of Jalebi and Rabri is also very much liked. All these are considered contradictory foods.

6. Drinking cold water after eating sweets made with ghee or drinking cold water after eating parathas made with ghee are both not good for health.

7. Eating fruits with milk or consuming sour things, eating salt or fish dishes with milk – all these are bad combinations.
