According to information received by CNBC Awaaz from sources, before giving exemption on bank guarantee to Vodafone Idea, the Department of Telecommunications has asked the company for its revival plan for the next 4-5 years. The government wants to know whether the company can pay its AGR and spectrum dues or not.
Telecom Department asked for revival plan from Vodafone Idea- Asked the company for its plan for the next 4-5 years. Asked how the company will pay the government dues. The company owes the government 2.09 lakh crores. Out of this, spectrum liability is 1,30,000 crores. The company has to pay about 70,000 crores rupees for AGR. The company's 4-year moratorium period will end in September 2025. The company will need 43,000 crores rupees every year to pay the dues.
