Unnao. In UP's Unnao district, a youth released on bail from jail shot the rape victim, her mother, father and two sisters. The mother died on the spot, except one sister, others were referred to Kanpur LLR Hospital. The accused fractured his leg while jumping from the roof in an attempt to escape. Before being caught, he shot himself at a distance of 100 meters from the spot. He also died on the spot.

Anurag and Puneet, residents of Majra Gudiankheda of Shahpur Khurd village of Fatehpur Chaurasi area, were booked for rape by a 17-year-old girl of the same village in the year 2023. The police arrested Anurag and Puneet and sent them to jail. Two months ago, both the accused came out of jail on bail. Anurag started planning to take revenge on the rape victim and her family.

On Monday morning at around 4 am he climbed on the roof of the rape victim's house. He started firing with a pistol at the family members sleeping there. The rape victim, her two sisters and father Puttilal were injured due to the bullets, while her 52-year-old mother died. Hearing the noise, the neighbours tried to catch Anurag, then he jumped down from the roof, due to which his leg got fractured. He was dragged for about 100 meters. After this, fearing of being caught, he shot himself. He also died on the spot.

The village turned into a cantonment

SP Siddharth Shankar Meena, ASP Premchandra, CO Maya Rai reached the spot with police force and admitted the injured to the district hospital, from where they were referred to Kanpur. Police have turned the village into a cantonment. Police are investigating with the help of the field unit team. SP Siddharth Shankar Meena said that the incident is being investigated point by point, if anyone else is involved in this, then his name will be brought to light and he will be sent to jail.
