Unnao: A horrific accident took place on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao on Wednesday morning. Near Garha village in Behta Mujawar area, a sleeper bus collided from behind with a milk tanker moving ahead. 18 people including a child died in the accident, while 20 people were injured. CM Yogi has taken cognizance of the accident. Expressing condolences to the families of the deceased, he has instructed the officers to immediately reach the spot and provide proper treatment to the injured.

The accident happened around 5:30 in the morning. The sleeper bus collided from behind with the milk tanker moving ahead. There was a lot of shouting after the accident. UPDA personnel informed the police and started the rescue work. Meanwhile, the Bangarmau, Behta Mujawar police station reached the spot and with the help of passersby, got the people trapped in the bus out.

The bus was going from Bihar to Delhi 

CO Arvind Singh said that the bus was going from Bihar to Delhi, in which most of the workers were traveling. There were about 50 people in the bus, the accident is likely to have happened due to the driver dozing off. The names and addresses of the deceased and the injured are being collected, all have been admitted to Bangarmau CHC. SDM Namrata Singh first reached the spot and investigated and then took information from the injured in the CHC. She instructed the doctors to treat them.

Two dead bodies identified

2. 28-year-old Shivdayal Pandit son of Kameshwar, resident of Lalgarh Cantonment Maksudpur Kararia Sheohar, Bihar
