Badaun. Heavy rainfall in the mountains has caused the Ganga river to swell. Due to the release of 1 lakh 7 thousand cusecs of water from the Narora barrage, the meter gauge in Kachla has crossed the warning line. The gauge is 161.32 meters, which is 68 cm below the danger mark. Shops located on the Ganga Ghat in Kachla are being shifted to safer places. DM Manoj Kumar has instructed the officials of the Revenue Department and the Flood Division to increase surveillance. 

The danger increased due to rising water level of Ganga in Kasganj district too

There is growing concern due to the rising water level of Ganga in Kasganj district. According to the latest data of the irrigation department, around 12 noon, 1 lakh 95 thousand cusecs of water was released from Haridwar and 1 lakh 29 thousand cusecs of water was released from Bijnor. The villages of Sahawar area are not in danger of Ganga floods, whereas the possibility of floods in Patiyali area cannot be ruled out.

DM issued advisory regarding flood

DM Medha Rupam has issued advisory to the concerned departments and the villagers residing in the coastal areas of Ganga regarding the possibility of flood. She has instructed the officials to fix 24-hour duty on roster basis. CCTV cameras should be installed at important points. Plotting, barricading and danger sign boards should be installed.
