Lucknow. After the death of a 16-year-old girl in suspicious circumstances in Mohanlalganj area about a month ago, her father buried the body in the house. When his wife returned from her maternal home and asked about the daughter, she said that she had run away somewhere. Both of them had a fight.

After the quarrel, she took her husband to the police station to report her daughter's missing. During police interrogation at the police station, the father broke down and confessed that he had buried his daughter after her death. Meanwhile, the villagers have suspected it to be an honour killing.

ADCP (South) Shashank Singh said that correspondence is being done with the magistrate to excavate the body. After his permission, the excavation will be done at the place where the girl's father has said that the body has been buried. The police has taken the accused father into custody for now and is interrogating him.

According to the ADCP, the young man had a fight with his wife in March. After the fight, his wife got angry and went to her maternal home. She returned from her maternal home on March 19. When she did not find her daughter at home, she questioned her husband. To this, the young man said that she had run away somewhere. The woman called her maternal family.

Everyone expressed their displeasure and questioned him but he kept saying the same thing. After this, the woman reached the police station with her husband and in-laws to register the missing of her daughter. She suspected her husband of murdering her. When the police started questioning him in the police station, the young man broke down. He told that his daughter was talking to some boy on the phone. She did not listen even after being forbidden. She was scolded and beaten.

Angered by this, she hanged herself on May 6. He was scared and buried her body at home at night. Salt was also added to it to ensure that it decays. The ADCP said that interrogation is going on and further action will be taken on the basis of whatever facts are found on the basis of investigation and post-mortem report. The girl was a class 9 student in a school in Banthra area.
