UP News: In Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, the Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested Sandeep Chauhan and Vijendra alias Tinku on charges of placing an iron pole on the railway track. According to the police, on the night of September 18, the two accused were stealing an iron pole that was placed on the railway track and were taking it away from near the track and when they saw the train coming, they left the pole on the track and ran away.
According to the police, both of them are addicted to drugs and alcohol and keep committing petty thefts. 16 criminal cases are registered against Sandeep Chauhan and 2 criminal cases are already registered against Vijendra alias Tinku. Both are residents of Bilaspur police station area of Rampur district. On the night of 18 September, the loco pilot of Naini Jan Shatabdi Express train going from Dehradun to Kathgodam, saw an iron pole lying on the track in Bilaspur police station area of Rampur and applied emergency brakes, saving the train from an accident.
On the information given by the loco pilot, there was a stir in the railway and police administration. Rampur police, GRP, RPF and railway officials reached the spot and inspected the incident site. Rampur GRP had started investigation by registering a report against unknown persons in this case and Moradabad SP Railway had formed an investigation team and ordered to investigate the matter.
The railway track was clear at 9 pm
After this incident, SP Rail Ashutosh Shukla had told that Naini Jan Shatabdi Express was going from Rampur towards Rudrapur about one and a half kilometer before Rudrapur station. There an old electricity pole was placed on the track, the driver of the train saw it on time and stopped the train by applying emergency brakes. Due to this no accident of any kind happened there. We saw that an iron pole was lying there in the bushes which someone had picked up and placed on the track. This incident happened on the night of 18th September at around 10:05 pm and a little before that at 9:38 pm Kath Godam Express train had passed towards Rampur, the track was clear at that time.
The case was registered in Rampur GRP police station
This incident happened around 10:00 am or a little before that, when a pillar was placed on the track. A complaint was filed by the senior section officer Rudrapur on the basis of which a case was registered in Rampur GRP police station. Today the railway police has arrested these two accused Sandeep Chauhan and Vijendra alias Tinku and revealed the incident. SP Railway Moradabad Ashutosh Shukla has rewarded the team that arrested the accused by giving a cash reward of Rs 10,000.
