Protests are set to take place across the US against President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk over federal workforce cuts, the economy, human rights and other issues.
More than 1,200 demonstrations are planned by more than 150 groups, including civil rights organizations, labor unions, veterans, and more, and organizers say they expect the protests to be the largest since Trump returned to office in January.
There will be protests against Trump's decisions
Protests are planned at the National Mall in Washington DC, state capitals and other locations in all states. The protesters are criticizing the Trump administration's actions to layoff thousands of federal workers, close regional offices of the Social Security Administration, effectively shut down entire agencies, deport immigrants, reduce protections for transgender people and cut federal funding for health programs.
People are also angry about Elon Musk
Musk, the owner of Tesla, SpaceX and X, is an advisor to US President Donald Trump. He has played a key role in reducing the size of government as head of the Department of Government Efficiency. He says he is saving billions of dollars for taxpayers.
'Trump will protect Social Security for beneficiaries'
The White House said in a statement that President Trump's position is clear. He will always protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid for eligible beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the Democrats' stance is to extend Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare benefits to illegal aliens, which will bankrupt these programs and ruin senior citizens.
