News Topical, Digital Desk : Due to a domestic dispute, a young man jumped into the Ganges from the Balawali Bridge on Friday evening. Before jumping into the Ganges, he called his aunt and said, "I am going to commit suicide." Mandawar police and divers arrived at the scene. They searched for the young man, but he was nowhere to be found.
Jatin Rahela, a 21-year-old resident of Tisotra village in the Nangal Soti police station area, reached the Ganga bridge in Balawali at 5 pm on Friday. He called his aunt, a resident of Milak village in Rampur district, on her mobile phone and said he was going to commit suicide. His aunt asked why he was doing so, but the young man hung up without answering. He then reached the Balawali bridge and jumped into the Ganga.
Police arrived at the scene after receiving information from local residents. Meanwhile, the young man's relatives also reached the bridge after receiving information from his aunt. Local divers searched for Jatin in the Ganges, but were unable to locate him. The search was suspended due to nightfall. Station House Officer Sumit Rathi stated that the young man was mentally disturbed. He was unmarried and worked as an electrical fitter. He had also had a family dispute.

A week ago, a young woman jumped into the Ganges from the barrage bridge. She remains untraced. Five months ago, an army soldier jumped into the Ganges with his one-and-a-half-year-old son, but they have not been found.
