In Sanatan Dharma, the Mahabharata war is considered the biggest and fiercest war. There were many reasons for this war. However, the villain was only and only Dhritarashtra. According to historians, if Dhritarashtra wanted, he could have stopped the Mahabharata war, but due to his love for his son, the Kaurava king could not do so. The Kauravas and the Pandavas had to pay the price for this. A fierce war went on between the two for 18 days. In this, except the Pandavas, only Lord Krishna, Satyaki, Ashwatthama, Kripa, Yuyutsu and Kritavarma could survive. Many warriors from both sides were killed in this war. Dhritarashtra's son Yuyutsu supported Satya and fought for the Pandavas in the Mahabharata war. Because of this, Yuyutsu got Vijayshri. But do you know what were the names of Dhritarashtra's hundred sons and why Yuyutsu did not support the Kauravas? Let's know-
According to historians, Hastinapur King Dhritarashtra was married to Gandhari. Dhritarashtra was born blind. His eyesight was impaired. Bhishma Pitamah deceived everyone and got Gandhari married to Dhritarashtra. When Gandhari came to know this, she blindfolded herself. Mahabharata has detailed information about Gandhari's marriage. After the death of her son Vichitravirya, Satyavati went to Ved Vyas ji and requested him to give a boon to Vichitravirya's wives for the growth of the dynasty.
Dhritarashtra was born blind
At the same time, Bhishma Pitamah had decided not to marry Purva. Knowing this, Ved Vyas Ji blessed Ambika and Ambalika to have a son. Ambika got a son from Dhritarashtra who was born blind. At the same time, Ambalika got Pandu as a son. Dhritarashtra was born blind. Because of this, Pandu was made the king. Knowing this, Dhritarashtra started hating Pandu. Later, after Pandu's death, Dhritarashtra made his son Duryodhan the king of Hastinapur. The Mahabharata war took place due to Dhritarashtra's love for his son.
How was Yuyutsu born?
Gandhari's sons were called Kauravas. However, the Kauravas were not the sons of Dhritarashtra, but were born to Gandhari due to the boon given by Ved Vyas. Pleased with Gandhari's service, Ved Vyas ji gave her the boon of becoming the mother of hundred sons. Later, due to the boon of Ved Vyas, Gandhari got 99 sons and 1 daughter. The eldest among them was Duryodhana. After him was Dushasan. At the same time, the sister's name was Dushaala. Apart from this, the Kauravas also had a step brother named Yuyutsu. It is said that Yuyutsu was born from Dhritarashtra's sexual intercourse with a maid. For this, instead of helping the Kauravas in the war, Yuyutsu helped the Pandavas.
