New Delhi: Be it a weekend or a national holiday, the crowd of audience in the theatres is seen more on holidays. The films which run poorly on weekdays, earn a lot on weekends. These days that video of Jigra and Vicky Vidya is playing in the theatres.
Alia Bhatt's Jigra and Rajkumar Rao's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video hit the theatres simultaneously. Both were released on 11 October, just a day before Dussehra. It was believed that the film would make a great collection on the holiday, but it did not happen. Now what happened to these two films on the second weekend, know the box office data.
box office collection of Jigra
A year after Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Alia Bhatt returned to the big screen in an action avatar with Jigra. The film was directed by Vasan Bala and featured Vedang Raina in the lead role alongside Alia. It seemed like Raazi would make Alia Bhatt shine again in an action avatar, but that did not happen.
Jigra, which opened with 4.55 crores, has so far earned only an estimated 25 crores. The film does not seem to be getting much benefit from the weekend either. According to Saknilk, Jigra has earned only 1.12 crores (till the time of writing the news) on the 9th day i.e. Saturday at the domestic box office.
Box Office Collection of Vicky Vidya's Woh Wala Video
Vicky Vidya opened at the box office with 5.5 crores on the first day. This film is ahead of Jigra. The comedy drama has earned around 30 crores in 9 days. On the ninth day i.e. Saturday, the business of the film was more than Jigra. Rajkumar Rao's film has earned 1.5 crores (till the time of writing the news).
Apart from action thriller, the comedy-filled film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video had more chances of doing well at the box office. There is no doubt that the film has done better collections than Jigra. The story of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raj Shandilya, is about the loss of the wedding night CD. Rajkumar Rao, Tripti Dimri, Mallika Sherawat have played important roles in it.
