Syria Civil War: Syrian rebels overthrew the 5-decade rule of the Assad family in 11 days. The rebels forced Syrian President Bashar-al-Assad to leave the country. Syria is now ruled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) rebels. Meanwhile, HTS rebels have announced that they are in no mood to impose any religious dress code on women.

Actually, after the coup in Syria, there was a fear in the minds of the people that the rules regarding the dress of women in the country can be changed and they can be pressured to wear religious dress code. Meanwhile, the General Command of the Syrian rebels has made a big announcement.

There will be no religious dress code

Syrian rebels have announced in recent days that they will not impose any religious dress code on women and have vowed to guarantee personal freedom for all. In a post on social media, the General Command said it is strictly forbidden to interfere with women's attire or make any requests related to their clothing or appearance, including requests for modesty.

The same statement further said that personal freedom is guaranteed for all Syrians and respect for people's rights is the basis for building a civilized nation. It is worth noting that after the civil war began in Syria in 2011, in areas dominated by Syrian opposition groups, women mainly wore modest clothing, showing their faces and hands.

Assad's family ruled Syria for decades

Let us tell you that Assad's family ruled Syria for about five years. After this, Syria saw the end of their rule. In just 11 days, Syrian rebels ended Bashar-al-Assad's 5-decade rule. Militants with an Islamic agenda attacked the Syrian capital Damascus and President Bashar-al-Assad had to flee the country.

It is noteworthy that his harsh crackdown on demands for democratic reforms in 2011 led to a war that claimed the lives of 500,000 people, forcing most of the population to abandon their homes and seek refuge elsewhere.
