There is a religious belief that by not following the rules of food during Shardiya Navratri fast, the devotee is deprived of auspicious results.   • In Sharadiya Navratri, one should worship Goddess Durga in the morning and take a vow to fast. Keep fast throughout the day. During the fast, one can consume Sama rice pudding. Apart from this, its khichdi can also be made.
  • Sabudana can also be included in the fasting thali. Sabudana khichadi can be consumed.
  • Apart from this, potato and sago vegetable, peanuts, potato chips can also be included in the fasting thali.
  • Buckwheat flour roti can also be made for Sharadiya Navratri fast. Fruits, milk and curd can also be included in the thali.

Don't eat these things

  • One should stay away from consuming garlic and onion during Sharadiya Navratri fast.
  • Ordinary salt should not be used in fasting food.
  • Apart from this, wheat and rice should also not be eaten.
  • Consumption of meat and alcohol is prohibited in Sanatan Dharma, hence do not consume these things even by mistake during the Sharadiya Navratri fast.
