According to the legend, once Hanuman Ji reached Lanka in search of Mata Sita, he saw that Lord Shani was hanging upside down in the prison. When Hanuman Ji asked the reason for this, Lord Shani said that Ravana had imprisoned many planets using his yogic powers. Then Hanuman Ji freed Lord Shani from the prison.

This is the reason why along with Tuesday, Saturday is also considered the best day to worship Hanuman ji.
