Rajasthan News: The body of a three-year-old male tiger has been found in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve (RTR) in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. Officials said on Monday (23 December) that forest guards recovered the body of a tiger in Ama Valley on Sunday (22 December) morning, which had injury marks on its neck, legs and head.
Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) and RTR field director Anup KR said, "In the cameras installed in the area, we found that there was movement of two tigers in the same area. So it indicates that one tiger died in a fight for territory. Injury marks have been found on the neck, legs and head of the dead tiger."
There are more than 70 tigers in this sanctuary.
According to forest officials, challenges are increasing due to the large number of tigers in Ranthambore and they often fight over territory. He said that there are more than 70 tigers in this sanctuary spread over an area of about 900 square kilometers. According to the study (2006-2014) of the Wildlife Institute of India, Ranthambore Tiger Reserve can provide permanent safe shelter to about 40 adult tigers.

According to forest officials, the forest staff found the carcass of tiger T 2309 in the Ama Ghati forest area of Ranthambore during patrolling today. The patrolling forest officials saw the carcass of the tiger and alerted the forest officials, after which Ranthambore DFO Ramanand Baker and other forest officials reached the spot. The carcasses were seized and taken to the Rajbagh Naka police station.
