10 people have lost their lives so far due to the torrential rains in Andhra Pradesh. Rains are continuing in many areas of Rajasthan. 26 people have also died due to floods in Gujarat. So far 36 people have lost their lives in both the states.

Meanwhile, the railways have cancelled 20 trains and changed the route of 30. In Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada and Guntur are the worst affected by the rain. Life has been disrupted due to waterlogging in residential areas here.

 

Many roads were submerged in water

Heavy rains in Krishna and Guntur districts have caused ponds and lakes to overflow. Many roads in Vijayawada, Amaravati, Mangalagiri, Guntur and Eluru have been submerged in water. This has disrupted vehicular traffic and normal life.

 

Rain brings Vijayawada city to a standstill

Vijayawada recorded the highest rainfall in the last two decades. The entire city has come to a standstill as the roads were flooded with 3 to 5 feet of water. According to the Andhra Pradesh State Development Planning Society, Mangalagiri in Guntur district recorded 278.5 mm of rain on Saturday.

It rained less today

In Andhra Pradesh, 10 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents since Saturday. Five people died and four others were injured in a landslide in Mogalrajpuram in Vijayawada. However, there was less rain on Sunday.

Water filled in many colonies

Many residential colonies in Andhra Pradesh are submerged. People say that they had to spend the night without sleep. People complained that they have not received any help from the administration. There is a crisis of food and water. Let us tell you that due to the effect of pressure in the Bay of Bengal, there has been heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh. However, this pressure has crossed the coast of Kalingapatnam on Sunday morning.

Heavy rain in eastern Rajasthan

The spell of rain continues in eastern Rajasthan. Heavy rain was recorded in Jodhpur, Pali and Sirohi districts of western Rajasthan in the last 24 hours till 8:30 am on Sunday. Sumer in Pali district received the highest rainfall of 78 mm. The Meteorological Center Jaipur said that the highest temperature in the state was recorded in Dholpur and Bikaner at 37.2 degrees and the lowest temperature was recorded in Dholpur at 28.2 degrees.

Above average rainfall this year

Since the onset of monsoon on June 1, all the districts of Rajasthan have recorded normal or above normal rainfall. During this period, 561.4 mm of rain has been recorded as against the average of 376 mm.

26 people died due to floods in Gujarat

So far 26 people have lost their lives in rain-related accidents in many cities of Gujarat. At the same time, 18000 people have been sent to safe places. Apart from this, 1200 people have also been rescued. The situation is the worst due to floods in Vadodara and Kutch. Crocodiles have been seen even on the roofs of houses. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel twice over the phone and inquired about the situation.  

20 trains cancelled, 30 diverted

Train services have also been affected due to waterlogging on tracks at many places amid heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. South Central Railway cancelled more than 20 trains on Sunday and diverted more than 30. Meanwhile, the Railways has also issued helpline numbers.
