Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, accused in the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, has been sent to police custody till January 29. Advocate Sandeep Sherkhane, representing the accused, said, "The accused's face does not match. His facial features are completely different from the current accused. He was produced in court today. The prosecution questioned him about where he brought the weapon from and who his accomplices are, due to which he has been sent to police custody. This issue was raised in the first remand, they have been given enough time."

What did the police say in court

Actually, the accused who attacked Saif Ali Khan appeared in the court. During the hearing, the court asked if he had any complaint, in response to which the police demanded extension of the accused's custody. Actually, the case has been registered under the Foreigners Act. Because the accused is a resident of Bangladesh. The police said that the towel used by the accused during the crime is yet to be recovered, and the shoes used by the accused are also yet to be recovered. Therefore, the police sought 7 days of custody in the court. In this case, the police have to do facial recognition of the accused's face on the basis of CCTV. 

The accused's lawyer opposed police custody

Also, the police is investigating why the family did not inform the watchman or anyone after the incident. During this time, the accused's lawyer opposed police custody. The lawyer said that everyone's statements have been recorded. CCTV footage has also been found. The accused's lawyer told the court that everything, including the mobile, has been recovered. Last time, the terror angle was shown. The Bangladeshi said that the police did not add section 109 to the case. The victim's family was also not informed about the incident immediately. The police could not give any reasonable answer in the court for giving them custody. 

The accused said this in the submission

During this, the court said that the police has told the acts of the accused. Police need custody for further investigation, such is their demand. However, in the submission given by the accused, it was said that he is being unnecessarily dragged into this case. This arrest is not legally correct. Therefore, police should not be given custody. According to the information, the accused is currently not helping the police in the investigation and he has not yet revealed the name of the agent through whom he entered India. The motive of the accused is yet to be investigated. Let us tell you that the accused also had an Aadhaar card and PAN card of India. But from the documents found with the accused, it has been found out that he is a citizen of Bangladesh.
