Vienna :  After a two-day visit to Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Austria on Tuesday evening for a two-day visit. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Austria in more than 40 years. Before Prime Minister Modi, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had visited Austria in 1983. During his stay in Vienna, Prime Minister Modi will meet Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and hold talks with Chancellor Karl Nehammer. The two leaders will also address top business leaders from India and Austria. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to interact with members of the Indian community in Austria.

PM tweeted as soon as he reached Austria

After reaching Austria, Prime Minister Modi also tweeted in this regard. In this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, Chancellor Karl Nehammer, it was a pleasure to meet you in Vienna. India-Austria friendship is strong and it will become even stronger in the times to come.

PM Modi arrives for dinner

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived for the dinner hosted by Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Karl Nehammer. He also greeted the NRIs here.

Vande Mataram was sung

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Hotel Ritz-Carlton, Austrian artists welcomed him and sang ‘Vande Mataram’Antonia, an Austrian artist from the group and orchestra who sang Vande Mataram in front of PM Modi, said that it was a beautiful moment for us to perform in front of him (PM Modi). He came to us like a friend and talked to us.
