New Delhi: A central control room has been set up at the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD) headquarters to resolve issues of police departments of various states and union territories and judicial authorities following the implementation of three new criminal laws across the country.
BPRD is responsible for formulating policies for better policing in the country. It works under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). BPRD has been made the nodal department for the preparation and implementation of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS), Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) and Indian Evidence Act (BSA).
The central control room has been functional for a long time
A senior official said the Central Control Room at the BPRD has been functional for quite some time now and is guiding various states, Union Territories and central police organisations for implementation of the three criminal laws at the national level.
Technical and legal experts present in the control room
He informed that technical and legal experts from BPRD, Police and legal agencies are present in the control room, even the Minister of State in Home Ministry is reviewing in this control room.
